I began my career in Graphic Design at Marketpower (Later merged with Creative Edge) in 2005. 3 years later, I joined Blueprint (An Ogilvy & Mather agency) as an Art Director. After 3 years, I left to become a Creative Partner (Art Director) at Scanad Kenya on the Coca-Cola Account and now work on several of the agency’s leading accounts. Throughout my career, I have worked with over 50 clients in many categories, both consumer and business to business. I have a broad brand image experience. I do commercial photography and mentor young and upcoming creative. Away from work, I am married with a young son and daughter. I am an introvert most of the time but I let my extrovert self loose around people i am familiar with. My hobbies and interest include and are not limited to... music, poetry, photography, blogging, BMW bikes, dogs, playing and watching cricket, target shooting, watching TV, movies, copywriting, internet, long walks and travelling. My Philosophy: Only God can create something out of nothing, i simply innovate that which already exist. My Mantra: Perseverantia ac Festinatio (Persistence and Speed).

My most recent role:
I am currently an Art Director at Scanad, Africa’s largest advertising network. I am one of the lead creatives for all work for Coca-Cola Central, East and West Africa Business Unit. I was part of the team that created the Coca-Cola 2012 Refreshment, Coca-Cola Africa Let’s Go Crazy campaign, Coca-Cola Tanzania Refreshment and many other tactical campaigns for Coca-Cola. Apart from this I am involved in several creative work for Safaricom, KCB and Jubilee.


Past engagements:
Previously, I was an Art Director, at BluePrint (an advertising arm of Ogilvy Kenya) entrusted by the Creative Director to manage certain key accounts with the main responsibility of ensuring quality in the creative output.
I was involved in trawling in the PSI – Mpango wa Kando project (for BluePrint) in a pitch battle with older and bigger agencies. Mpango wa Kando is a behavior change project aimed at reducing the high rate of infidelity in Kenya with the aim of combating HIV/AIDs.

I was also the lead Art Director on the MultiChoice Kenya account, responsible for the launch of GOtv, Africa Magic Swahili, KPL – Supa Soka, the 2011 IAAF Championship, DStv Mobile and the MultiChoice brand. I was also responsible for the standardization and roll out of their Pan African campaigns developed in South Africa.

Other projects I handled were: the conceptualization and drafting of the whole digital strategy for G-Pange Relaunch (A youth behavior change project by HFG);  the lead Art Director on the BarclayCard account responsible for the cards retail campaigns across Pan Africa with focus on the East and North African regions; the lead Art Director and Digital implementer on the Telkom Orange account responsible for the relaunch of Orange Kenya website in 2010, was also instrumental in the conceptualization of Orange Money campaigns and Orange Business;  the rebrand of Hashi Empex to Hashi Energy; conceptualization of East African Cable – Wire si Wire campaign; conceptualization and execution of AMREF – Haba na Haba campaign;  KPC;  GDC; Ministry of Energy and Brand Kenya.
